SWP is a special permit issued to a foreign national who intends to work in the Philippines on a temporary or for short-term period not exceeding six (6) months and occupy a temporary position. The SWP is issued for an initial period of three (3) months and is extendible for a final period of another three (3) months. SWP is valid for a maximum of six (6) months only.

Please be reminded that SWP is only a permit and not a working visa and does not include the authority to stay. The holder must keep his 9(a) tourist visa valid during his/her stay in the country.
