Any foreign national seeking admission to the Philippines for employment purposes must secure an Alien Employment Permit filed by the petitioning Philippine company through the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

An AEP is for longer work period or contract not unlike with the SWP.  AEP is normally valid for one (1), two (2) years to five (5) years depending on the duration of the contract and renewable for a maximum period of (5) years.

Alien Employment Permit (AEP) is issued by DOLE and a documentary requirement when applying for a Work Visa.
